What made your day a crap one?

I understand. Had I remained in my old home it would’ve cost 100K to make all the necessary repairs and upgrades to make it livable for the next 20 years. I bought a house that, while some work was necessary, in the long term will be significantly less expensive than staying where I was. Plus, my daughter and son-in-law now have a lovely situation to raise their children. It was a win-win.
You are a good man Charlie.

Extreme sharpness is ephemeral!
Today, I bumped into a dog walking acquaintance of mine. We usually exchange a few minutes of conversation on my daily walks several times weekly over the last few years. I do enjoy talking to him, and like him as a person, and his elderly Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Today's conversation was a conversation I was not expecting. He came straight out with it; he told me he was terminally ill with cancer, and they had given him weeks. I just couldn't say anything. What an awful moment that was. I put my hand on his shoulder, looked him in the eye briefly, I had tears in my eyes, and just walked away.

I think anyone would be thunder struck for words to say in that situation. Sorry you had to experience that.

So I will come straight out of it too: My panic attacks last year mostly, were based in these kind of conversations I wish I hadn't done.

I really don't know to handle it. I'm jealous of the people who don't care about anyone except from themselves. This kind of people survive today.

There's nothing wrong with caring for other people Randy. That's who you are. You do you. 👍
