While funding Aston Martin's conventional racing efforts, Zborowski was creating automotive monsters in the stables at Higham Park. Working with engineer Captain Clive Gallop, he built a series of cars powered by enormous surplus aircraft engines. The first was powered by a 23-litre six-cylinder Maybach engine from a Zeppelin airship, mounted on a Mercedes chassis. They called it "Chitty Bang Bang."

His legacy lived on in other ways: Ian Fleming, who had watched him race at Brooklands as a schoolboy, later drew inspiration from the Count's exploits when writing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Had a touch of vertigo last evening. It is gone this morning. It has been over ten years when I had a more profound event with residuals lasting a few days.

Just searched to see if there was a relationship between high temperature and Vertigo. There is!

Yesterday. Another tale of woe.

Made a cup of tea, taken black. Placed it on a small table next to a leather sofa, as I sat down I must have caught the table which rocked sending the full mug of tea onto the seat of the sofa, my jeans soaked it up and the pain was horrendous. Took my jeans off as fast as I could and went for a cold shower. Blisters came up quickly, tried a cold bath, the cold water actually felt hot next to my backside.

Overnight I was sick and then diarrhoea, I have since read that this is a common reaction to scalds and the shock of it all, something to do with the body dealing with an emergency.

I haven't been near the first aid kit in 15 years but found some well out of date gauze and micropore tape and have covered the blisters to try and stop the weeping and becoming infected, not easy on your own.

Haven't eaten all day just drank water.

You wouldn't think that something as simple as sitting down with a hot drink could cause so much drama.

That is terrible and so sorry. I trust the family jewels are safe? Maybe consider US Southern Iced tea with lemon going forward.

Vertigo is no fun.

The first time it happened it was all I could do to crawl into the bath. The wife sees it all the time of course, and wasn’t worried. Now I have medications for it. When I feel a bout coming on I can get ahead of it.
