A tub of GD Flight. Bloody good it was too. I have some more GD stuff en route as I enjoy it so much.

I’m on a bit of a mission: I have several near finished tubs- B&M Bay Rum, CRSW Glide, Mike’s Coconut and a Eufros. I hope to polish that lot off before this time next month 🤪

I bloody did it! Flight then Glide then Eufros and B&M Glissant and then Mike’s, plus the ProGuards. The Glide held out longer than I’d expected but I made up time with the Glissant and Mike’s. I now have only seven soaps in my stash (plus two GD en route).

Are there any I wouldn’t stock again? Nope, they were all first class but some are easier to get hold of than others. Scent wise the Bay Rum was a bit too orangey for me and the Flight had a tomato plant scent that I didn’t like. The Eastern Breeze from Eurfros has become over familiar to me but the other two are delightful scents.

as a side note: in effect these tubs are single use and I was acutely aware of this as I chucked them into the 'recycling' bins. Whilst the B&M is a solid, impressive tub it was still going into the bin after serving just one purpose so I've saved it for samples (plus it doesn't have that small hump in the middle). However the other two plastic ones are in the plastic bin - whether they can actually be recycled is something I'm not confident of, and I'm uncomfortable about. The Mike's is steel so should be recycled. Eufros is aluminium and in theory (in my understanding) requires the least energy and effort to recycle.

Based on my (ignorant / partial) knowledge, I think I'd be happiest with aluminium tubs (even though they take more energy to create). Shame Mike's now use plastic.

How good are Mike's soaps based only on performance?

What I've finished recently is buying any more shaving gear. I have enough. Now I just want to sell what I don't use. On to other things.

Why not just order soap pucks without the container? Many soap makers, including Mike's offer them.

That's how I intend top reorder Mike's. However, of my favoured soap maker only he offers that (B&M, Eufros, GD, don't) and then I have the expensive of USA to UK shipping because maggards don't stock refills...
