Your questions are ones that have passed through this mind too. I don’t think it will go back to before the emoticon/emoji explosion and there is a definite shift towards not using capital letters and punctuation. It is all going down the toilet. Sorry if my earlier comment seemed too corrective. (I could end with an emoji ... but feel it inappropriate.)
99.9% of what I say on here is firmly tongue in cheek and means zero insult to anyone, I have a sarcastic slant to my humour which can be taken the wrong way especially by younger members who take everything far to literally, they tend to see the written word as black and white and without a nice little picture on the end to highlight it was a joke tend to take it the wrong way. In their world emoji's are important to set the tone of the message sent.
I agree with you Wayne, I too have a similar sense of humour and I have got into bother in the real world a few times because of it. I always manage to get out of it without being thumped on the hooter ... though it has been very close a couple of times.
I fell foul of the moderators on another shaving forum last week. I asked "does the world really need another 5 Top Soaps thread?", the OP called me names, some other guy told me to relax. Then when I posted "Are you ordering me to enjoy myself...?" all the posts were deleted. Now the world has yet another "5 Top Soaps" thread........
Now, there's a novel idea.
