... How we all laughed at the 'skin effect' cable guys, the cable lifter guys, the magic carpet gripper rod guys.. But it turned out that many of us were still subjectivists hallucinating differences. The late great Peter Walker was right all along.

I was into HIFI early eighties and went to the HIFI show at the Last Drop Village in Bolton, where i bought a copy of the recently released "A Walk Across the Rooftops " in heavyweight vinyl direct from the Linn Audio stand and just completely fell in love with the band and their music from that point on.

I also remember the madness around cables etc and the late (great? ) Peter Belt with his paperclips on curtains etc

Apropos Peter Walker was that the quote about a large Whisky being the greatest upgrade to a HIFI System ?

A good friend had a complete Quad system with a pair of the electrostatic speakers and i remember them being very clear and musical.
