Mermaid Gin and Tonic cheers everyone!
And a fine specimen of the Vermouth genus to boot.
I’m sorry that it’s taken so long to reply. Happy New Year to you and I hope the family’s well! Did you go to the cabin this Christmas? And a fine specimen of the Vermouth genus to boot.to Cocchi. (Slightly dependent on use, but I think I’ll have to rate Carpano Antica over it, though.) Hope all is well with you and the family - Happy New Year!

I’ve finally got a bottle of Carpano Antica Formula coming tomorrow so that I can compare! I really like Cocchi for sweet and Dolin for dry but I’ve gone for Carpano and Noilly Prat this time!
Current rankings? I’ll definitely stick with Cocchi over Carpano Antica Formula for sweet but the dry battle is more delicately balanced! And a fine specimen of the Vermouth genus to boot.to Cocchi. Suppose Cocchi is somewhat fresher, from memory? For Dry, and while I can appreciate a dry sherry, NP beats Dolin for me on basis of a richer mouth feel and, plainly, more taste.Current rankings? The Carpano is absolutely delicious! It’s very rich with lots of vanilla. Very nice as an aperitif but I reckon the Cocchi’s better balanced and less of a bully in the cocktails I’ve mixed both in - negroni, boulevardier, manhattan and martinez. In terms of the dry, I also prefer Noilly Prat over Dolin neat - I did a blind tasting over three nights and it was pretty conclusive. I want to play around with how it behaves in martinis next!Suppose Cocchi is somewhat fresher, from memory? Yup, cabin over Christmas. Not much snow, so didn’t even bring skis, but went ice skating on the frozen lake instead. Made me wish for replacing hockey skates with the kind used for Nordic/tour skating, with longer blades.
How’s the junk lifting going? Grown them pecs and guns?![]()
