TiGlide S1 by Titaner

Just a small review of my thoughts about the Titaner TiGlide S1 so far.
I have now had two face shaves and one head shave, but I plan on doing a more detailed review on my day off when I have a little more time.
Right now I can tell you I have not had a single cut or bad shave with this quirky razor.

I find it on the mild aggressive side with little to no blade feel and the cutting feeling is very smooth indeed.
I have felt or heard no blade chatter and no movement whatsoever from the blade, the mixture of magnets and the screw that clamps the top cap into place really locks everything down.
I love the balance and handle length and it does not feel cheap either in hand or to look at and I still struggle to believe it's all Titanium considering the price.
I Thought my first shave was good but tonight was even better.
I am really impressed so far but early days.
My word right now if I had to describe the TiGlide S1 would simply be "Surprising".

It's permanently attached. The length balances out weight in hand. It's a rather smooth finish that still has texture in hand. I never feared it slipping out of my hands during my shaves.

The reason I asked was because of this picture, and i couldn't see how it worked. Are you sure its permanently attached. Regardless, i just placed an order.

That was a prototype and early pre-production model.

No I haven't. The Mars is the only similar razor I've tried, and I really get on well with that. The other SE I have is the General V2.

Here is my final thoughts about the Titaner TiGlide S1 razor with lots of pics.
When I first saw this razor on my YouTube feed I didn't think much of it because I am suspicious of products being reviewed by people that don't even wet shave normally and let's add to the fact as soon as you see it you are reminded of your old car or Boombox aerial.
No it's not telescopic so you can't shave your bum and back with it ha ha.

but the I read the reviews from @Str8Mug and he enabled me into taking a punt.
So for £102 I got a Titanium razor, a Titanium stand and a Silicone travel pouch, I would say it's great value when you compare it to the Leaf Razor that comes in at £100 for the razor and stand with no pouch and not Titanium.

It takes a half DE blade that is held in place by magnets and then firmly clamped in by the top cap with a screw.
Unlike the Leaf Razor this does have issues, it's does not like the blade being snapped in half because you end up with two slightly bent tabs that make it a faff to keep the blade in place.
It can be done but to save the faff just snip the blade in half or better still use already cut blades.
This brings me to my second issue with the razor, I really wish that they made the stumps just a tad longer and this might resolve issue one.
Now to save new owners some time, the best method of loading the blade is to hold the razor with the base plate dead straight like this and excuse the used blade.

Then and don't over think it just throw the top cap on, the magnets always snap it onto the baseplate in the correct position and just tighten the screw, you will find the blade stays perfectly seated every time.
Now with all that said you will find this a fantastic shaver, it feels nice and smooth and you might find the handle looks slippery but it's not, it's lovely and balanced.
If I was to describe the shave finish I would have to say it's very much like a OneBlade razor and a BlackBird Lite, so if you like those razors then this will be right at home in your den.
I actually place it as my best half blade razor beating my Leaf, Twig and Thorn, I can't face shave with the Leaf as it's too clumsy but with this I can face and head shave with ease.
I am more than pleasantly surprised by it and coming from a company that mainly does EDC objects, they pretty much came into the shave world with a does what it says on the tin and does it really well razor. It won't have you selling your den collection off, it's not the holy grail but
I think anyone that's willing to give it a try, will be very happy with it and £102 all in makes it a steal.
I have yet to have a bad shave with it and even cut myself, I think I have pretty much covered everything between my two posts but feel free to comment on anything you might want to know.

Nearly forgot to mention that the razor ships with a blade already installed so watch your fingers and be smart throw it away as you can't trust open blades, who knows where it's been or what it's done.

I received the TiGlide a little while ago, and thought I'd post my thoughts, but Errol's weekly razor review on Paste and Cut, left me wondering if there is more than one version of this razor. He completely trashed it and said it was the second worst razor of the year.

I've narrowed down the razors I use to the Masamune and the General V2. I favour comfortable shaves over all else, and these two have best delivered that for me. Until now. The TiGlide is the smoothest, most comfortable shave I've yet had. With a wonderful softness as well. When the angle is right and the flat of the razor is against your skin there is a slight amount of suction, and the razor operates extremely quietly. It's totally effortless. The handle is a little longer than I'm used to, but I just naturally took up a grip a little further down the handle around it's balance point. It never got in the way, or obstructed anything. The angle of the head comes in for scrutiny from some people, but the handle angle is barely different from usual for me, it's rather neutral. I just lay the head against the skin and never give it another thought.

I'm impressed by it, and at the moment it delivers the best shave of any razor I've tried. Admittedly Errol has tried many more, but after this, I rate his opinion as questionable.

I told you it was a cracking razor, it's flying under a lot of people's radar and they are missing out.
Some people are dead set on hating a razor even before using it and they are set on finding faults regardless. I wonder if that's what happened to him in his review.
Each to their own though and as always YMMV But I have never had a bad shave yet with it.
