Bob, thanks for the tip. I’ll be off to my local Body Shop later this morning to pick up a tub of the new Maca Root shaving cream and a tube of the old Maca Root shaving cream along with a stick of the Maca Root men’s deodorant.
Good luck finding the old Maca Root shave cream in store. They were out of it local a while ago. If you get the new Maca Root & Aloe let us know how it compares with the old plain Maca Root stuff.
Yup, a tube of the old Maca Root not insight. I did buy a tub of the new Maca Root & Aloe and will let you know how it compares with the old. What ticked me off in the store was the staff seemed unaware of the 35% offer; I had to have them check on-line and, of course, it was...not good.
What’s the issue with the new Maca Root & Aloe? At the price I couldn’t resist it.
Just trundled off to my local Body Shop store and bought the new Maca Root & Aloe 200 ml. At the store they knew it was 35% off so got mine for the $11.70. Did a hand lather with an Omega boar brush when I got home to see what the hubbub was about. Seemed to hand lather like the old stuff and was slick as snot to boot. Not as good as the old Maca. Good price but definitely not as slick as the old one.
The proof of the cream is in the shave: I’ll give it a whirl tomorrow and compare notes with Bob’s in the thread he mentioned. Unfortunately I can’t make a side-by-side comparison with the old cream as I used up my old stuff about two months ago.
I have a pretty full opened tub of the original Maca Root and was able to buy another one before they disappeared. I haven't tried the new "Aloe" formulation so can't comment on which is better. But I will say that the one that does not have "Aloe" in the name is very very good. It is one of my favorite creams.
Used it this morning and it seems little changed from the old. It makes a good thick lather with plenty of slickness and cushioning; no irritation at all. It still smells the same. As I pointed out earlier, I am not able to make a side-by-side comparison with the old unfortunately. I’ll continue to use this cream to see more fully how it performs, but my first impression is very good.

If you mean take another stroke to an area just done then yes but I do not really like to do that normally. I do 4 passes so touching up that way is not really needed.
