Augsut 14, 2026 Anniversary Shave
First pass with the Feather. It’s a combination of with and across the grain. After somewhere barely over a half dozen shaves, 8 or 9 at the most, I’m feeling much more comfortable using the razor on both sides of my face. Something that seems to be repeated consistently with the Feather is how close the first pass gets me while not feeling sharp, dangerous,
too close, etc. I suppose I have the basic hang of rudimentary technique.
I bought the Asylum Injector the day it was released and have used it for countless shaves since then. As time goes by I’m coming to understand how near perfect it is for me. It’s definitely my closest and smoothest shaving razor, bar none. In use it’s comfortable beyond compare and easy to maneuver. At rest it’s
so good looking. The only negatives I can see anyone point to are the weight (99 grams sans blade) and relative ease of loading compared to traditional injectors. Those two points are non issues for me. For sure, this razor is most definitely one of the crown jewels in my den!
Today was the maiden shave for the Vulfix brush. There was barely any badger funk out of the box. It washed up easily, with little to no shmutz visible in the lather or rinse water. In use it loaded easily and was a complete flop mop for face lathering. Once in a while I enjoy that. The other Vulfix in my den is similarly flaccid. Brand new brush and not one hair was shed. Not one. A worthy addition to my shave shelf.
