Tabac Convert

I think Tabac is one of the top performing soaps out there bar none, I can take or leave the scent though. I think if Maurer and Wirtz decide to pull the plug on Tabac you'd see pucks and splashes going for silly money on eBay. To me it's like Shulton Old Spice, we should support it as we won't realise how good we had it until it's gone.

I'm a convert. Tried it a few years ago and while the soap's slickness, glide and cushioning were superb I initially struggled with the scent. Having grown accustomed to it I've since bought the aftershave and both will always feature in my stash.

I'm not massively enthusiastic about the smell of Tabac, but when it's on the face I've grown to like it maybe as I associate it with the fantastic lather/results it produces.

I find Tabac to pair with a few old school splashes really well, eg a few Turkish Tobacco splashes (Akcay is my favourite) and Denim.

Whish there was a Tabac Craftsman shaving soap, cause the scent is totally different than the original Tabac, way more modern and appealing.
There is a splash and everything else in the line but no soap.

It doesn't take much for Tabac to get rid of the amped up scent. Leaving it under strong sun or where there is plenty of sunlight with no lidf posted, for about 3 weeks really tone the scent down.

I posted the same query on Maurer & Wirtz official webpage but never heard back from them. Craftsman will make a great soap no doubt.

Tried only Tabac puck.. not my favorite scent, but protection and lather is great ! Will stay in my den for sure

A good performer definitely but the scent just isn’t for me, very similar to B&M Spice which I’m not keen on either.
Had very slight irritation too which doesn’t happen often with me.

Tabac is, without a doubt, one soap that I always have on hand. The scent sucks, but it is a masterful piece of kit for your den.

Wonder what would happen if they released these in shaving soap formats...

Anyway, when using Tabac I always shout out my of bathroom window " Du Bist das original" ! "Kein wenn, kein aber das original"!
My neighbours often look confused and a little scared but they don't understand the power of Tabac.
Anyone else do this?

I saw that Tabac had a strong reputation for good performance, with a very polarizing scent, so I just had to try it.

After using and thoroughly enjoying it, I brought it to my wife to sniff and asked her what it smelled like. "Powder" she replied. "It smells like Aunt Elsie and Grandma."

I said that some describe it as "the inside of an old lady's purse." She nodded in agreement vigorously.

I’ve read in a couple other foruns that Tabac is ending, the company that makes their base closed and Maurer&Wirtz are not going after another. Just rumors of course.

For me the performance of Tabac can’t be beaten, so easy to lather, it’s foolproof.

I’ll have to rub an old lady on my face and see if I can a similar scent off her if that happens.
