Stop me from being boring (soap recommendations)

I'm about to run out of my Taylor of Old Bond Street sandalwood cream, a perfect opportunity for me to mix things up and not just buy same old product?

What's your recommended cream/soap? (Ideally lanolin free}

My opinion, don't jump in for the expensive artisan soaps, they are generally over rated, stink (IMO) or smell of nothing (IMO) and are average in performance.

Some Artisan soaps are decent though. P&B & Wickhams (vegetable based) are generally well received. Stirling punch above their weight in terms of scent and price, performance.
Lea, La Toja, Speick sticks are fantastic and cheap. Valobra, Tabac, Vitos all great. TFS manufacture for a lot of other soap "makers" and can be picked up cheaply in sales..

Buy a kilo block of Vitos Red Extra Super Coco for about a tenner, kick back and watch everyone else in bewilderment. Come back for another recommendation in a decade or so.

Vitos, Tabac, Speick, Palmolive...less than £25 for over a kilo of soap, all four are superb performers...

I'm not a fan of cheap soaps and I've eliminated them from my rotation. No way Tabac or Arko or Cella is getting into my bathroom.

For very little extra you can get a really top class soap with a quality scent and impeccable performance. Just on scents alone I'd have to go Saponificio Varesino (SV) and performance is top notch. I'd start with Dolomiti or Felce or maybe Stella Alpina. These are hard soaps and will last a long time. You'll get your money's worth.

TOBS isn't a bad option to continue with. When I started I ended up buying all their creams and a few soaps. My personal recommendation from their range is Avocado and Mr. Taylors. I only have a couple left to finish now. I also bought Proraso and Trumpers Coconut cream (better than TOBS coconut IMO).

Reflecting back all those were excellent products and still are.

I had some TOBS avocado cream a few years ago, just had a full waft of it from memory alone - funny how smell does that. Was a good one as I recall!

I'd suggest either getting some samples from Connaught or Shave Dash. The latter have ingredients lists for the majority if not all of their soaps so you can see which of their soaps have lanolin or not.

Some of the suggestions above have been 'buy cheap' or 'buy pricey', but if you get some samples from either (or both) then you can get some from each camp and work out which ones which will suit your face and nose the best.

Here would be some of my suggestions split into 2 camps of mass produced soaps & independents

Larger Production - Speick, Tabac, Palmolive (cream & stick), Vitos, Cyril Salter, Cella, Valobra (puck or stick)
Small Production - Stirling, Sapon Varesino, Phoenix & Beau, Wickhams (Fox of this forum's soaps), Le Pere Lucien, Extro
