Thank you @HereticHermit I really appreciate that. It is tough to keep that in mind sometimes. I don't enjoy feeling like I am letting customers down. It's keeps me pushing but also doesn't give positive energy.

I can only take the suppliers input on face value, but after multiple missed deadlines I have stopped passing on their dates. I do believe they will produce the quality I am after though, and they are committed to my quality specification, so think the wait will be worth it.

@Hone I did not wanted to post again on your struggle, least I start to sound like a broken record. But I will say, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

When, one of my group company wanted to expand in UK they were new to that market and did not had very deep pockets against Chinese corporate who were pitching directly against us. But labor unions were unanimously like, Chinese owners? No way!

Mind, there was no behind screen wheeling dealing. Labor unions were backing us purely on ‘what little they already know and hearing from other well meaning independent sources’. Eventually, we took over a sick business, in spite of weak financial footing, and turned around the company into profits.

That kind of trust cannot be achieved by cutting corners or manipulation or in matter of short time span. It takes time but it happens eventually; when you put people/customer first. You are on right track, just stay focused with belief and ethos.

Hi @Hone l’ve had my heart set on your brass version for quite a while, I take it because of the delays that this has also been pushed back? I understand and I’m not complaining just eager to get my hands on one since I’ve seen and heard of it.

@LeeMaz Not taken as a complaint at all! :) Correct, all my resources are caught up in the stainless production. It's the cork in the bottle at the moment. It's also holding back the brush I was sharing with the forum previously as well. I am trying to line it up so I can jump straight onto it once the stainless is moving.

It's a great razor. I bought one in December 2015, and the aluminium long-handle version the following year. With some practice to get the angle right, and good sharp blades, it delivers a first-rate result. The brass model has a really nice patina, and mine hasn't seen anything but soap, water and cold steel since it came out of the box, let alone metal polish. However, if you like the brightwork look, it will polish up a treat.

They look so good! Will the samples be sold or sent out to a waiting list if up to scratch?
Thanks @LeeMaz It's important to hold on to them at least until I have the full batch as a reference point. I would expect to have some very small final things to fix on these or that might not be up to scratch, so I don't think I would sell them. But if they are functionally up to standard then I would be ok looking at some other way of them being used, or gifted in some way.

That’s understandable as your in the middle of the process of making, testing and refining! However that’s one hell of a gift or test piece they look amazing!

With the good news on things moving forward, combined with the fact that I had been shaving exclusively with a shavette for the last month, I really had a hankering to shave with my Hone 15t, so popped in a new blade and have been using it for my last three shaves.

I definitely need to downsize my collection of DE razors, but I cannot see myself ever parting with the Hone. Of course it shaves well, but the key is that it shaves so uniquely versus any other razor I own. So if I ever want a different shave experience, I know exactly which razor to reach for. With most of my razors I tend to angle towards the safety bar, but in the case of the Hone, the right angle is very much oriented towards the cap to the extent that in my head it feels like it should be cutting nothing, yet cuts closely with no blade feel. (Blade feel does come into play if I angle too much towards the bar).

There is this really cool, high pitched scything sound as I shave -- more pronounced when shaving without shaving soap and just water, more often when buffing. Not sure if that happens with the bronze or stainless, but it makes me think of this invisible samurai just swinging his katana and slicing my stubble.

As I said, fun shaving experience that never gets old. Razor is well balanced and is not heavy at but has a decent heft ... more tangible weight as compared with my Blackbird Ti.
