To be honest, it feels pretty much like any standard aloe vera gel. I didn't notice anything special other than the hair softening you naturally get from the gel's hydration.
Thanks for the reply. I’ll give it a try. This will be my first dedicated pre-shave product. Usually, I just apply a good amount of shaving soap with my brush, rinse it off after about five minutes, and then apply the lather I actually shave with.

OK then, another test run looking for that 1 pass sweet-spot.
I had a great lather from the Signature soaps Vectis, thick and creamy and plenty of it. i had a nice heavy covering for protection. I again went straight for an ATG pass but being much more mindful than yesterday just letting the weight of the razor do the work. It feels comfortable but again with that potential to bite. I completed a no issue full pass but the rinse of still had some very light stubble here and there to the touch, I tuned the dial to #2.5 and completed a XTG pick up pass without issue.
I do think with practice it could do a 1pass BBS although i would need some time to suss-out how. Not something i am interested in really.
So I've ended up with a BBS finish from 2 decent passes.
Enjoy your day all.
