Simpson Brushes Appreciation Thread

My first Tulip 3 also had a glue bump at first and I sent it back to Mark. My new Tulip arrived yesterday and is now perfectly manufactured.
The Tulip 2 is the first Simpson made in Manchurian Badger to date.
Actually Mark didn't want to make me a Tulip2 in Manchurian as there is a tradition at Simpson.

I’ve a lovely T2 with a Super knot, but the creme de la creme of my Simpson brushes is my QE II Jubilee with a sublime Manchurian knot. I had an M6 with a Manchurian knot, but the glue bump spoilt the face-feel for me.

Hello and Merry Christmas everyone,

Finally received the Simpson replacement stickers from Mark - so ready to sell BOTH CH2 and CH3 Manchurians.

Simply too scritchy and dense for my face, I'm really preferring the Copper Ice CH2 silvertip two-band - love it so much more.

Is there a buying/selling sub-forum? Couldn't find one.

Here are the brushes Chubby 3 Manchurian in blue opal and Chubby 2 Manchurian in sapphire:

...applying the stickers right now. lol :)

Good grief that Blue Opal is such a beautiful material. If I had the money, I would have bought that brush from you. It must be so photogenic.
Good luck with the sale.

All (3) are beautiful brushes, even the Sapphire CH2 has a gorgeous silver shimmer running throughout, my photo image simply didn't pick it up...

The Blue Opal handle is one I wish to revisit one day, the reflective flaking takes on shapes of easily identifiable figures.

Told the gf, we were calling that shave brush Crystal Blue Persuasion, and she didn't understand - too young to reference the reference. :)

Then, I explained the Haight-Ashbury era to her and viola! Now she gets it.

gf: “OH, I see butterflies in the handle, and the head of a lion at the lower right.”

Do you see the little cartoon boy with the large eyes just above the lion? How about that piranha fish at the lower left about to eat that lightning bolt?

If you can spot those (3) images, you are doing well! :p:

So wish I didn't have to give up these two brushes, I'm just not a manchurian type o' guy, the 2-band silvertip - by far my preference...

Picked up only my second shipment of DG soaps - Opulence, Bangarang, and Epiphenomenon.

All 3 face-lather brilliantly with the Simpson Chubby 2 Silvertip 2band. It's such a lovely brush. Still cannot believe it cost $325USD geez, was I out of my mind?

It's a lifetime brush for me, I'll still be enjoying it - when I'm 95. :)

This is a very rare Simpson KR7, loft obviously kaput. The KR refers to Kents Row number 7, the address of a Simpson employee from the Nimmer Mill days, Somerset. The KR7 was referred to by a Simpson family member as one of the best handles they made, but information is scarce. Anyone?

Two Chubbies, Somerset (Nimmer Mill) era.

The first is a two-band beauty (Ch1). Extraordinary white tips. Yes, original loft. Look closely: a misprint on the decal:

The second is my current favourite: same era, dating 1980. A three-band monster CH2 in Best, but no lather hog. Bigger than the currently produced CH2, and a much better, silkier loft IMO.

(Backstory: from the estate of the late Kenny Lynch, OBE; originally purchased from Aspreys, London. Google him: you’ll be gobsmacked.)
