I used my Milk Churn the other day and was thinking this could do with a Synthetic knot, please forgive me ! I do like a Synthetic knot and that badger just isn’t doing it for me.

...nothing wrong with a synth. Great brush though either way. Very comfortable. What loft size does yours have?On price last year that Chubby Synthetic went down on Amazon to £46.21 ! I got one at that price and it’s I’d say my best brush. It was a strange price difference at as good as half price.
For me Chubby 2 is the perfect knot size, but the Chubby 3 handle is more comfortable for me. I think that a good best is hard to beat, but from what I understand the best knots is a bit inconsistent. I had a Chubby 2 super that I sold. Dense and very soft tips, but manchurian works better for me so that's what I prefer. But a good best is more value for money. So lately I've been shaving with the Chubby 2 Best and I've come to appreciate what a great brush it is. Perfect density, softness (not excessive), flow, enough backbone without being stiff, controlled splay. Just as I like it. Only thing I'm not so crazy about it the handle. Although I only face lather and it's supposed to be ideal for that it kind of seems a bit small. But it's something minor.
Anyway, l like it so much I'm thinking of getting another (Chubby). Problem is I'm not sure which one to buy. For sure the Chubby 1 is ruled out - too small. So it's either Chubby 2 (in Super) or Chubby 3 (in Best or Super). The reason I'm considering the Chubby 3 is mainly the handle, I hear it's more convenient than the 2 - at least it's a bit larger which is something I'd like. But is it reason enough to get a bigger brush? The 2 is already big. Is the 3 much larger? That's the first question.
Now about Best vs Super. Some say Super is better than Best, softer, denser etc. Some say that due to its density and thinner hair it doesn't have such good flow as the Best and keeps more lather inside. I don't like too soft hair and I believe the Best is soft enough without feeling like mud on your face. But I haven't tried Super. Maybe it's better. On the other hand, I really don't like when I struggle to find lather hidden deep into the hair. Is this how Super behaves or is Best just a tad better in this area?
So, what would you recommend? Chubby 2 or 3? Best or Super? Or do I already have the ideal brush and there is no need to look further? No need to answer the latter, just a rhetorical question...
Stefan has nailed it and not much more to add to what both yourself and he have already said. I would be extremely cautious going for a CH3 unless Manchurian. Best and Super will have significant splay and large face coverage. Stiffer Manchurian splays less, if equal lofts are considered. So lately I've been shaving with the Chubby 2 Best and I've come to appreciate what a great brush it is. Manchurian is my preferred grade of hair and I have both CH2's and CH3's. These do have firmer backbone and less softness on the face. I never liked the CH2 Super in terms of lather hogging, so yes, CH3 only in Manchurian or stay with CH2 Best. Based upon your preference, I'm not convinced you'd like Manchurian, but....Yes Chubby 2 is fantastic (perhaps I got a good hair batch - I hear there are varieties) apart from the handle. Hmmm... So either the 3 Manchurian or stay with what I have, in other words spend heavily or nothingThe usuali dilemma

wow - looks sooo much better than Simpsons own photographs.A very lovely Chubby 2 two-band silvertip arrived 10days ago, and I must say I prefer it to my (2) Chubby 2 and 3 Manchurians.
The handle is also extremely appealing, thank you Mark.
Copper Ice - is so nice.

I don't believe Simpson uses a very nice camera for their product page photos - which is extremely unfortunate.wow - looks sooo much better than Simpsons own photographs.

I have the Simpson Trafalgar T3 and a Chubby 2 synth in "Dark Knight" and a few Yaqi synthetics...I am wondering how well the new Simpson Trafalgar synthetic stacks up against other synthetics. I currently have a Muhle V1 and V2 and an AP Shave Co SynBad. They all get the job done, but I don’t find any of them terribly satisfying. I like the SynBad the best as it splays more easily than the Muhles and is easier to apply lather to my face in a circular motion. I only lather on my face, so face feel during lathering is very important to me. If I were to buy a Trafalgar it would be the 1, which is about the size of my other synthetics.
