I am out. No desire to follow a thread where people shoot from the hip; inaccurately read the posts; then see things as a coincidence without any rational basis for that view ....and then not apologise when corrected.
@dc68 Sorry to see this. I hope we can make things right and that you will continue to participate. Your thoughts are important.

I think you'll find @Nishy asked the question before anyone expressed a preference.
Thank you and I apologize and stand corrected. The first response was directly below the question and should have been obvious.

I also implied Limited Editions are unique and probably should be numbered - group buys should include cost savings to members (my opinion)

Cheers but it's @Blademonkey, @bozz4fun and @dc68 who were mentioned.
I was miffed because I've always thought more established members should encourage new recruits, not point out their alleged greenness.
Thanks anyway,
Kevin.

Guys, how does Bernd's ebonite wear? I have an ebonite from Declaration and the gloss finish is perfect after a few months.

I'm interested in finding this out too

Mine does not seem to have changed since I bought it six months ago. I do keep it in a drawer, so in the dark and I have used it approx. 15 times.

And regarding price, if anyone is trying to estimate the cost, my last group brush had a 26mm 2 band Unique knott and was 143 Euros delivered.

Thank you, a couple of other members who I always take advice from have mentioned they very much like the ebonite. Think I may have to try it out :)

Ok a few more updates the Barber style as can be seen in post 1 (prototype model) is the shape we are moving forward with. Bernd could not offer any other shape as these brushes are challenging for him and he said he would like to keep the project small. So apologies to those looking at other shapes. @Mr_Smartepants I pushed for the previous hexagonal shape as an extra but it was a no go.

Knot will be 26mm fan shaped. Again Bernd mentions the bulb will be too pointy at lower lofts.

Bernd will send me the prototype shortly for a full perusal. Currently asking for colour options, may be from Shavemac stock to keep costs low. But nothing is concrete as of yet.

As in the feeler thread I might be in on this depending on price, colors, knots, etc, etc, etc obviously. Just can track it easier here but the prototype looks cool.

My shavemac ebonite appears to show no wear at all, as any of my other brushes of various materials. I've used it many times, I don't know, maybe 50X. My routine for cleaning and drying is no different than any of my other brushes. Though, as I've stated before, it's a matte finish. I would not call it gloss whatsoever. I don't see how a gloss finish would wear any different. My only proof would be my Paladins though they are not ebonite so no real proof there.
