Shampoo bars, which one is the best?

I've used Mystic waters (strong stuff) and Mike's (one bar lasts a long time). The kind I liked most was Through The Fire Fine Craft - but I can't find it on their website anymore, so maybe they've stopped making it. TTFFC lathered the easiest and was the least harsh, followed by Mike's, followed by MW. TTFFC used to make a conditioner bar that was excellent as well... saddened I can no longer source it.

I tend to favour bottles of the runny stuff, as it has the upper hand on keeping things neat in the shower, shelf, tub etc. IMO obviously. But I've tried MW from a (more than decently sized) sample bar and my hair and scalp definitely approved.

The DR Harris ones come in a nice container :)

I've been using a MdC soap sample (fougere) as a shampoo bar for the last 3 days. Definitely works well, lathers like a beast and hasn't disintegrated. No negative effects, hair isn't clumping or feeling sticky, so I'm putting that down to it being more nourished and less stripped of oils.

That's pretty much my experience too. As much as I've tried, trying to manage soap bars isn't convenient, invariably they always seem to manage sitting in a puddle of water and turning mushy.

Not washing you're hair too often is one of the best things for it, I try to keep it down to 2-3 times a week now in an effort to allow the natural oils to develop.

Kindly received the Mystic Water Original sample from @Mr_Smartepants as always a huge sample which I'm very grateful for. Great to read such a clean ingredients list, packed with enriching oils. Thoroughly enjoyed the scent, almost a spiced chai and ginger but not overly sweet, performance was also excellent. Since ditching liquid shampoo over a week ago, my hair has felt less dry and brittle. Looking forward to using it for tomorrow's shower too.

I have to wash my hair daily. Soap bars beat liquid ones handily. Plain soaps that are just NaOH + fat + water work best for me. Practically no dryness afterwards, much less than commercial shampoos and soaps, anyway.
Stronger and shinier hair and skin are what I get this way.

Well I've been using the kind sample @Mr_Smartepants sent me (Mystic Waters original), as well as a those suggested by @Rowlers and am awaiting some shampoo bars from Funky Soaps via Etsy. I will also be purchasing some from Lush soon.

Mystic Water has been the stand out shampoo bar. Lovely 'aqua spa' like fragrance. No itchiness or burning, even with the stronger scent profile. Lathers up superbly and leaves the hair clean, without feeling tacky or squeaky.

Mike's and Mystic Waters seem ok but both are murkan with all the post expense and hassle that involves so will sadly steer clear.
