The Polywatch didn't work on mineral glass watch crystals for me.
If the scratch is deep it might need to be filled and leveled. Luthiers use crazy glue to fill scratches on musical instruments.
Assuming that the scratches on the brush are just wear and tear rather than a deep score, then the approach is very simple. Getting rid of scratch marks really means reducing the level of everything around the scratches - with wood, metal and plastics the principle is the same - you start with a level of abrasive that is less than the scratch marks and work upwards in terms of abrasive - that is for example moving from 500 grit to 1000 grit - until the surface being polished reflects light at the intensity you want. So, you may want a Matt finish on metal but a piano finish on wood - you just keep going up and up until you get there.
The trick is in knowing where to start in order to save time. You could try polishing scratches out of a piece of metal using, say, 2000 grit wet and dry, but it will take a long time. Any time you do it by hand will take a lot longer than using powered equipment - so I go back to my original suggestion of using a powered mop with polishing compounds designed for plastics/acrylics in order to achieve the kind of finish that you will not achieve by hand. Small mops are a couple of £’s and so are the specialist compounds. I’ll wager a small bet that’s what Berndt uses when he needs a re-polish.
