Grumpy old man
He will develop a nice red breast, just a wee fledgling so a bit spotty.
I get that but an adult American Robin is about twice the size of the English Robin and is a member of the Thrush family not Flycatcher as the English Robin is. About all the two Robins gave in common is that they are both birds and have red breasts. It's the size difference in the adults that first got my attention.

Ahhh I see now. The ones where we were aren’t at all timid, this little fella can only be a couple of months old and quite happy to approach humans. He was taking bits out of my hand, as the others have been in the past. This is a Royal Horticultural Society garden, quite a safe haven apart from the other wildlife, but no cats !
