Pen knives; show them off.

Trouble is these days with knives you have to be so careful about carrying them. Technically a Leatherman in a pouch on your belt could land you in trouble as it’s a locker, whole can of worms there with the law. Always try to teach my Scouts safe handling and sharpening / knife care.

Feel like this is another rabbit hole for me to go down. Bought a Spyderco Bug to go on my keyring to open all my shaving parcels, but now I'm thinking I could do with a pocket knife, and also a Leatherman multitool...
Leatherman have an excellent warranty. I had a problem with one once. I contacted them, sent it back and they sent me a brand new one by return.

This is why my EDC Leatherman is a Juice (XE6), the blades are sub-3" and non-locking. Pouches for the Juice range are crap though, so I asked Dale @stormcrowuk to make me one.

Love those Cadets!

I went through a phase of spending silly money on pocket knives that I never use, but managed to nip it in the bud before I got into the really gucci stuff. Collection includes:

Several rough rider slip joints
Several opinel no. 8 and no. 6
Byrd meadowlark
Cold Steel Tuff Lite
Kershaw can't remember the model
Spyderco Persistence, Tenacious and Delica
Benchmade Griptilian
Svord Peasant Knife
RAT II
KA-Bar Folder forget the model
SAK Ranger (my first knife that is almost as old as I am - lives in my fishing bag)
SAK Rucksack
SAK Spartan
SAK Cadet
SAK Alox Farmer

Most of them never get used / carried due to legal issues, but the cheaper folders are always to hand for box opening and EDC tasks around the house and garden. Technically, even an Opinel is a no-go in public.

Very rare to find me with any sort of knife due to carry laws and working in a college. I’ll have the odd pocket tool, screwdriver type. But that’s a good quick to hand tool for when a student forgets an isolation valve is open and we have water going everywhere ! Yeah them Opinel are a great knife but illegal, mind they do make non lockers. I should get one of them too, I’d probably go for a carbon and acid stain it.

The Cadets are a nice little carry, plenty of useful tools in a compact package, I carry a 2015 Blue Steel all the time, The Danish Blue, Black and Green are quite rare, limited to 100 pieces each, I have all 3 colours 👍
That is dedication ! That said I’ve seen loads of people on EDC sites who collect the lot like you. An addiction for sure.
