Pass around: Shavemac Synthetic brush

You asked for 26x48 on all brushes and thats the sizes he sent?
I asked him: 24x45 (beehive jade), 26x48 (lotus - I don't remember the resin), 28x50 (anchor lime).
I don’t know if you remember, but I sent the Lotus back (it was 26x50) because of some issues like shedding. Problem is... the knot should be the same, yet adjusted (not a new knot). Hmmm...

EDIT: I see I wasn't clear in my previous post, sorry. I was referring to the Lotus only.

Jade: 25(something less)x45
Lime: 28(something more)x50
Lotus: I don't remember. It should be 28(something more)x49 - I didn't ask Bernd these measurements (I asked 26x48), so... I'll contact him to understand.
Surprised by the (at least from the photos) different shapes of the knots. They go from round (Anchor) to pointy (Lotus), with the Beehive in the middle. That aside, the two former make me want to shave, so that says something. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Yuri.

The Lime Anchor looks very nice. Not so sure about the Lotus. Like @halvor I'd expect more consistency between the knots shapes.

Me too. A little bit perplexed. Three different shapes in hands too. Keeping the proportion, the density is different too. I can't comment at the moment because I'm at hospital, and I don’t have the brushes with me, but the Lotus didn't impress me in hands. It seems to have a different fibre too. I'll check carefully as soon as I can.

The Anchor is very close to a Chubby (in hands).

I'm guessing this really is out sourced to be tied by others rather than Bernd himself. Its the strongest explanation as to 1) variance in shape 2) QC on previous knot. The language used in Bernds reply just leads me to think something don't add up "We make them in bunches and not in single mode as we do it with the badger knots." If they are made in batches by him or his staff on site he'd see the differences as being made

Both brushes received.

The 'Nishy' looks like a beautify handle but bulbs do look small.
The Synth looks underwhelming, but I'm looking forward to using it tomorrow.

Spot on Paul, this bulb is a little too small, often needs re loading for a third pass. However being small it provides quite a 'punchy' face feel considering it's a 2 band and not D01.

Been reading some of the European forums and they are loving the new Shavemac synthetics. I've seen Nishy quoted a few times and they always agree with his initial comment about the Shavemac synth being very close to Shavemac's own 2-band badger knots.

I've seen it said by more than one reviewer it apparently retains water and heat better than any other synthetic and general consensus is the fibres are "like Simpsons but thicker."

I shave to say the above knot looks different from other Shavemac brushes I've seen. But I still stand by my Shavemac synthetic comment. A brush I like very much but YMMV :)

A note on the handle. It not had a lot of compliments on this forum and I wasn’t impressed by the pictures. However, in reality it’s the usual high quality one would expect from Shavemac. Very comfortable to use, weighty, a nice colour and the flat spot on the back adds control.
