Congrats on the upcoming birthday. Just food for thought and obviously IMO, the Ti timeless 0.95 SB is everything the Karve E plate delivers but better. To clarify this further, the razor is lighter so gives the impression of greater manoeuvrability. Side tabs are better hidden and over two passes I do experience a closer and more comfortable shave. The above is not to take anything away from the Karve E plate, as it is absolutely fantastic. I don't have issues with irritation, the side tabs being exposed or the efficiency expressed. However if I wanted a more refined razor the Ti Timeless would be my choice (0.95 SB). Is it worth the difference in price, perhaps not, but that is subjective.
Do you recommend scalloped top cap or smooth top cap in Ti 0.95 Straight Bar version.
Thank you

Me too, didn't like how the Brass reacted with the oils in my skin and it caused it to smell metallic and off putting.

As my wife and I are celebrating Christmas early this year, I finally got to try out my Karve this evening (after many months of waiting).

I wasn’t sure how I would get on with the more aggressive plates so, seeing as I had three days growth, I decided to plump for the E plate (which is the most aggressive of the plates I got with the razor).

I was expecting it to give a pretty harsh shave considering the blade gap and was very pleasantly surprised when this wasn’t the case. It felt pretty smooth and gave a brilliant shave.

I’ll try the opposite end of the spectrum tomorrow (the AA plate) and see how that fares. [emoji846]

I find the E provides the same blade feel as C but is a lot more efficient over the same number of passes. Look forward to your thoughts on the AA

I tried the lowest setting plate, the AA, with a Feather tonight and had a really nice, smooth, mellow shave.

Two shaves in and this razor feels amazing. I am very pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is.

The fact that both the AA and E plates have given good shaves shows how much thought was given to the geometry this razor in its design.

I’m getting the most comfortable shaves I’ve ever had with the Karve on plate B. Loving it!

I’ve ordered plate D today, to see how I cope with the increased blade gap.

Just sold my Karve. Beautifully made razor so little sorry to see it go. I just found that the Muhle Rocca and Parker Variant somehow suited me better.

I might however cast my eye over the OC when it comes out!.

What didn't you like that much in the Karve?

I,m used to the Muhle Rocca and Variant so perhaps found the lack of blade feel in the Karve to affect my shaves with it. Also i just couldn’t seem to get it to shave as good ATG as my Rocca/Variant.

I know this goes against the overall acclaim for the Karve, not saying it’s not a good razor just not a good razor for me!. YMMV.

Just tried my first open comb, the Fatip Piccolo (MK 2) and in comparison it was love at first shave!.

Fatips are nice. I have an open comb from their line. Really good shaver if you ride the cap.
