@jphelan81 and @Barry1963 did you get email shipping confirmations? I’m still waiting for my 3.5” handle, and see the webpage says that 2100s are already being shipped out (and I’m #2101).
As far as I know, he tends to send a shipping confirmation email to everyone. I was order #2063, and finally got the email early hours of Wed, 12th Sep... hope that helps...
I still haven’t received the package or the customs charge card.

Out of control
I've had my Karve for several days now, and have 4 shaves with it so far. I bought mine with the E plate.

I really like the feedback from this razor. The sound, and also the blade feel. My face feels good after shaving with it. However, the actual quality of the shave, so far, has been only slightly above average, and certainly nothing particularly special. Perhaps there is more learning to be done, but I feel that many razors would give me a closer shave.

I'm slightly wondering if I should have gone for the F plate, but to be honest it's not good enough for me to bother swapping plates. On the other hand, it's good enough that I don't plan to sell it. I love the handle, and the design.

What worked for me is keeping a shallow angle during the shave. Karve isn't really picky about the angle, but for me it performes better when shallow.

Someone said "the Rockwell is the Karve's poor cousin". I suppose he meant the C version, and the price difference (excluding VAT and duties) is not that big, anyway. Do people, who know both, agree that they have that similar heads and face feel?

Haven't shaved with mine in some time with the SEptember & OCtober shave themes that I've been participating in. But, I think I will go astray for a shave or 2 this week and get reacquainted with the CB Karve. It's only cheating if you get caught.... :p:

First use of my 3.5'' handle D plate today.

Physical impressions of the razor are that the finish is very good within the scope of its specification i.e. no obvious machining marks. The balance seems a little out, but nothing too limiting and I suspect that the 3.0'' could go too far the other way.

Loading up a Perma-sharp which is my general go to blade, the razor felt as smooth as butter in use. Very easy to find the angle and efficient too giving a first class two pass DFS. The head and guard in particular seems to have some resemblance to the Stahly which is incredibly smooth, albeit lacking a little in efficiency.

All in all I'm very pleased so far with the Karve; in particular after taking a punt on the D plate solely from reviews.

Had my first shave using the newly arrived 3.5” handle after multiple shaves with 3”. Only one shave in, admittedly, but the impression is that it significantly amps up aggression of the D plate. (And efficiency, my skin is smooth as butter.)

Thanks to the cool generosity of forum members I've been able to try-out a few razors recently. The Karve, with C and E plates being one of them.

What a brilliant razor! Normally I don't like brass razors because of the smell, however, this, for some reason, has very little 'brass' smell when I use it. It's there, but barely noticeable. The weight is at the higher end of what I prefer but again perfectly acceptable. The C plate is a joy to use but a bit too mild for my tastes. The E plate was initially a bit too much and I was little raw after the shaves but now is spot-on for me. The razor is simply drama-free, easy to use, load, a smooth running thread (I like the extra-long threaded post) and produces great results.

In many ways it reminds me of my Weber Polished Head: quietly competent, but not as exciting as my Blackbird or as ruthlessly efficient as my Rex Ambassador.

Yesterday the Gamechanger, today the Karve with the D plate. And yes, another exceptionally good shave that was close, smooth and very comfortable. Though I prefer the E & F plates on the Karve, if I’m not in the hunt for a BBS finish the D fits the bill nicely. Light blade feel yet still good efficiency with just enough audible feedback to let one know that it’s taking care of business. Just an absolute joy of a razor to use for whatever shave situation may arise. As a shaving system razor with multiple plates, it only really has one competitor, the Rockwell 6s/6c. And in my humble opinion, it beats it any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Superbly engineered and manufactured for not much $$$. A steal if you ask me....
