The Blackbird original and Blackbird Sabre V.2 I find to be more efficient than the Karve plate E. However I wouldn't describe either as being inefficient. I also find the Blackbird in particular to shave 'closer' or deeper than the Karve. However I could easily and comfortably perform 3 passes with the Karve. The Blackbird is confined to 2 passes for me. If unsold ally razors and kept my Blackbird I wouldn't suffer. I'm not sure I could put the Karve in the same category. The Blackbird also looks better and has better balance IMO. Please note I only have the Karve in the shorter handle configuration.

I've sold my Karve. Good razor, but not a top-3 for me and my goal is to have a rotation of 3-4 razors.
My Blackbird SB has a secure place in that rotation.

Interesting, what is your current 4 rotation out of interest? The Blackbirds do look stunning, although I didn’t like the look of the build quality of the Dart personally.

I know I'm going to keep my Blackbird and my REX Ambassador and I've recently sold my Karve and Rockwell 6s. Hanging on the fence is Timeless .95 SB and ATT Windsor SSH1. I have Dart on it's way (I ordered it when they were released but it got lost somewhere so Shane just the other day sent me a new one) and a PILS on loan (should arrive today or tomorrow). If the PILS is as good as so many says I'll probably buy one. I'm aiming for a small rotation of razors that I use a lot, instead of having expensive razors collecting dust.

Above is razors for my daily shaves at home, but I have more razors that I use occasionally like Mühle R41, iKon Tech, Merkur 34c and 37c and a few more that I'm not going to sell. And as a travel razor I use a Parker 94R.

Thanks for that, really informative. Let me know how the PILS is. I’m going to keep my Timless, it’s OC and enjoy the aggressiveness. I then want to have another 2 or 3 that I can just use anytime, I think the Karve will be one of those. It’s difficult to know what else really, as it’s expensive to try!!

Pils is an excellent razor but you have to find the exact angle to shave with that it's not like other razors

Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone got Customs charges on this razor and did you go for the cheapest delivery method of Canada Post Small Packet International Air (6 to 10 business days$ 19.75 CAD).

Ready to order plates C & D with the 3" handle

Cheers

I did, and I believe we all have, so far. I paid around £17, if memory serves me correctly. And yes, I went that shipping route and it took just over a week.

So order placed for 3” handle with C&D plates. I was wondering, is the 3” handle what most people went for?
