I just had my first shave with the Rocca (R95) -- and it was faultless. I can't speak to the previous versions of the razor head, but this was as smooth and gentle as my R89, 39c, or Progress. I couldn't be happier with this razor, and I don't know how @Wayne found it too rough. Must have been beginner's technique.

Ouch!!! no need Monseuir Bowles...It was by far my most aggressive razor in my limited rotation and one that commanded respect and a little more stubble, that said it always left a faultless BBS shave.

You should have tried it with a Polsilver. It was as smooth as silk. I can't understand how it can be aggressive. It is the blade that makes all the difference. I'm a guy who can't handle the Progress (or any adjustable) on 2.5; it's 2 or nothing, and the R95 with my trusty Polsilver felt, and shaved, like a 2.0. I'm a redhead -- I have girly sensitive skin with a Viking's beard. This is obviously how my Viking ancestors conquered your Lindisfarne ancestors!

This doesn't apply to me particularly but those who need a rigid design obviously need not apply, narrow clamping distance and no bottom support here. I can see how for some this might be a no go ATG.

It's... alive!
@Benz3ne, @Progress_user, @Dr Watson: thank you kindly, much appreciated.
Despite the different angles, it would still seem v3 is much improved in how well it should clamp the blade.
I'm one of those who benefit from rigid designs quite a bit. However, I did find that if a blade is supported by the top cap sufficiently (3 points or a solid clamp), then riding the top cap (kind of like with old GEM razors) makes them fairly decent for me. With some of them, even going ATG is OK.
This V3 might be worth a try, although not as a buy for me. It would be nice if Muhle offered one for a passaround, unlikely as it is.

It just occurred to me... them flatter surfaces mean that it should be possible to use the head with the shorter non-AC style injector blades. Alignment could be a bit finicky, but maybe not much..

I struggle with my v2 ATG relative to my Gillette Blackbeauty.

With respect, the top cap here does not do that much for rigidity, you have both substantial cap span and unimpressive clamping distance. Looks like the anti-Wolfman/Game Changer pretty much. Again, doesn't matter for most folks or Muhle wouldn't do it this way -- the non-rigid Wardonia and Progress work great for me -.
