Machined is the only way to go, show me your Birthmarks, in my view and ex profession, polished is a cheat for poor workmanship.

Machined finish for me, I just prefer the feel of it and I don't want to keep buffing the razor after every use. The polished version does look amazing but like my wife tells me every day, I am a lazy A@@hole.
I am the same with Brass so no bias in laziness
