Ne'er-Do-Well
We played outside mostly as there were only 2 TV channels locally and rabbit ears weren't very good on our B&W TV. We had a dial phone on a party line so you only tried to use it if you had to. Those days were certainly different from today.

Bob
We had CBS and NBC. ABC came later. Yes, I recall times when TV was just too much effort.

Yes, party lines and rotary phones! :D

Still living in a snow globe world with 15-25 CM/about 6-10 inches of snow forecast for today. We have been getting this snow treatment every second or third day for a couple of weeks now. Makes you wonder if getting in one big dump would be any better. No incentive to go out today, so time to do a few loads of laundry and do the grocery shopping tomorrow.

Really mild day here, cut the grass for the first time this year and did the laundry, first time this year that I have been able to put it out on the line to dry.

I don't think that I have seen any frost this winter or even an inch snow.

Crazy, crazy world

Yes in is a crazy world we live in. We never put laundry on the line in winter or summer. We don't want to deal with frozen stiff laundry in the winter or the bugs the laundry attracts in the summer.

The only family member that is enjoying the cold and snow is our dog Bonnie. She has the double layer fur coat of a Husky and can't wait to get out to bury her face in the snow, roll in it and then just sit there letting the snow cover her. She will grudgingly come inside when called, wait to be towelled off of the snow and be always ready for a repeat performance. You have to smile to see that lunatic dog enjoying the snow. Bless her big, kind heart.

here too... a dusting up to a few inches every other day/night... had 6" inches throughout the weekend and this week is guessed to get colder and more snow to maybe over a foot by fryday... we kinda get the area we live in but even the lifelong locals have been saying it has been bad...

I don't know if we are all just much better informed and therefore aware of the weather in 2026 or something else but no complaints from me when I look at the weather from my window and see a bright blue sky and sunshine, a good Spring day and we are still in February.

Some good news, a neighbour flies once a week/10 days on Dubai first class on Emirates. they give him an amenities bag (a wash bag with with lotions and creams, razor etc) he never uses them and brings them back home, he saves them up and has a clear out which means that he

It's... alive!
The cold came back. Forecast is calling for an overnight low of-28C/-18F and a windchill of -33C/-27F thanks to high wind speeds. That brings up a frostbite warning. Thankfully, they are calling for a much warmer week coming up. Might be a good way to start March.

Good time to hold an indoor ice sculpture festival, perhaps? 😁

Naw, the house is 21C/70F indoors. You just have to bundle up real good to go outdoors and expose as little bare skin as possible for as little time as possible to protect yourself from frostbite.

I thought you Canucks were all hardy buggers, always out fair weather or foul, playing hockey, ice fishing and mushing..
