Grumpy old man
Regarding daylight saving time, I got up Saturday at the usual time and after Wordle, I set the clocks ahead. I used this time all day and went to bed accordingly. I awoke at 6, which was 5 before. So far, no residuals from the change.
For me the question is, why to we still do the yearly time two steep. I can see no practical reason, aside from aggravation, to continue to do this. There are enough annoyances without this.

None of the explanations that are put forward make very much sense such as making the most of the brighter evenings or saving in energy, there was once an argument that it was useful to northern farmers, that was quashed when the northern farmers said that the time doesn't matter, they get up when it is light and go to bed when they are knackered.

There was an EU proposal to stop the clock change practice in 2019 and starting from 2021 but that got forgotten about.

Bonnie will still want feeding at her old time, you may need to sit down and have a talk with her and explain the sitch.

I do not know the answer, but I know it is a problem for many to adjust. I wanted to experiment and see if it made a difference to get ahead of the change rather than waiting until Sunday morning.

Getting my ears lowered today. It has been over 6 months since my last hair cut. Don't like the shaggy dog look.

Have you tried doing it yourself? I took the plunge a few years ago and am glad I did. Frankly, ease of clipping is the only advantage to losing my hair :( One of Gayle’s last gifts to me was a Wahl rechargeable clipper. I work through a few combs every three weeks or so. It’s really simple to do, and it saves me 40 bucks a pop.

Another round of snow, blowing snow, rain, freezing rain and ice pellets today.

Here in the UK, the weather is really mild for this time of year and people are walking around dressed like it’s summer which to be fair is what it feels like and I live in the North West. I’m sure it’s even warmer down South.

Would love to see a picture of what it looks like outside there if possible? Your winters sound unreal…

Kind regards
Mark
