I have scam calls from India every day of the week, I even know the script

'Hello this is Virgin Media Technical Department, my name is Peter, how are you' They always want me to download an App Anydesk so that they can test my connection.

It is at this point when I tell them to go away, sort of.

Shock of my life when I had a genuine call from Virgin Media about an adaptor for my landline phone, I told him that I was within a hair's breadth of telling him to get lost.

I told someone from Sky once to Foxtrot Oscar. Shortly after realising it was genuine !

Now that is scary. It appears to be written by someone whose first language is English. That makes it far more likely to succeed than the usual crap. We are so sick and tired of scammers that the usual reply is to Foxtrot Oscar.

Oddly, when I was off the grid I got fewer spam calls. I’ve got my phone to silent numbers not on my list.

We gave ours up when BT went totally digital. Don’t miss it at all.

I'm more than happy to keep my landline and would love to pitch our new 5G cell phone. I just want a cell phone that is just a phone and not all the other crap that comes with it. I guess that comes from not having the need or wanting to be connect 24/7. Call me a luddite.

Me too, I know that cell phones are an essential for many, especially tradespeople but to spend your life committed to the latest social media posts of your friends whilst you ignore your children is just wrong.
