Yes, everyone's skin is a bit different as to what they can tolerate. Fortunately my skin, like the rest of me, is fairly insensitive. My normal morning shave is a 4 pass shave regardless of what I am using. I think some might consider that over doing it.

I think that makes the two of us a bit unusual from what I have been seeing on other forums. I have the distinct impression a 2-3 pass shave is more the norm and 4-6 would be deemed over doing it. That might make an interesting poll to see what the average number of passes per shave is the norm.

Well I have had my first shave with the 37 C with an Astra Super Platinum and am very impressed. It was very smooth, and no nicks or irritation whatsoever. Prep was a shave after a bath and just used Wickhams's soap with no pre-shave. I am very impressed and will probably buy one of these unless anyone can recommend an even better slant that is efficient yet not a biter. Is it really no better than a 34C? Are other Slants more aggressive?

Thanks Steve and Andreas for making this happen. I am getting really well with this razor. I will in all probability buy one as I have found it smooth and efficient on my sensitive skin. I have been using an Astra blade for the past week and that has been lovely in this razor. I just want the chance to try Polsilvers in it as this is my other favourite blade. Once I have had a few shaves with the Polsilvers I will send the razor home next week. As I say I looked at one of these a while back on the Shaving Shack I think. I was however put off by their disclaimer that the razor was for experienced wet shavers only. I reckon they have to cover themselves but this razor has not shown any sign of biting once. It is more forgiving I think than even my DE89 and the Parker 24C. I would definitely recommend this a as first razor for someone with sensitive skin.

I am going to have to give it some thought but I would like a slant for sure. It is a toss up between this and the Ikon X3. I might consider a Razorock German Slant as well but probably I'll go with this. If you get on with something why go elsewhere? Only think these German boys need to learn a bit about is finish. Edwin Jagger and even Parker have a much nicer finish. However it does the job ans that is what is the most important thing

For what its worth, IMO the 37c is far superior to the iKon x3. Much smoother shave, less irritation.
Now the old bakelite double slants - now that's where the fun is!
