Charlie, I've used a Silver Star blade for three consecutive shaves. First shave was far from the smoothness I'm used to with GSB, Perma-Sharp or Minora. Sharpness was definitely there. Second use was an improvement in both metrics with third shave likewise. It's a decent blade, but, for me, no Russian made GSB or GPS replacement.

Interesting, for me it's generally almost as smooth as a Permarsharp for the first three shaves and then it tapers off.
Mileage varied, I guess.

Thanks for the update, David. It’s interesting how some blades improve after the first shave. That said, three shaves is the best I can muster from any blade with the possible exception of Med Preps which will give up a solid fourth shave. The more time I spend with my preferred gear, the more my impressions are reinforced. Self fulfilling prophecy perhaps, but it’s something with which I’m ok.

Three shaves per blade is my norm and is then disposed of, Charlie. Never seen the point of pushing a blade.
I'm thinking of just stocking up with those I know work.
