Just finished this, courtesy of @Wickham-Soap-Co

Although dated, it felt like it should be a b&w 1950s film, it was very enjoyable. Witty and clever without being obtuse. Michael Innes was a fine writer with very much an Oxbridge style. His Inspector Appleby books are intelligent murder mysteries, done with style and humour. This one is different but no less of a good read.

Interesting book, agree with some and disagree with other stuff in the book but would recommend it

Read it on the kindle, like being able to mess around with the font size and style etc, really handy when you're tired etc
