It's... alive!
Hurrr, if they were selling the OC head separately... it's only the closed comb stuff that they do, though. :-/

Second shave with the Homelike start razor and I decided to test it's smoothness against the Razorock Gamechanger 0.84 blade gap. I used the same new blade - Gillette Silver Blue - for all passes.

Decided to use the 0.90mm on the Start razor as I only used that on the first shave for the pickup pass and there wasn't much left to get a proper feel for it.

Pre: Hot Shower
Soap: Oaken Lab Conservatory
Razors: Homelike Start Razor 0.90mm
Razororck Gamechanger 0.84mm
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Brush: That Darn Rob Silversmith
Post: Cold Scottish Water
A/S: Oaken Lab Conservatory
Balm: Vaseline Aloe Soothe

1st pass, with the growth.

Used the GC first and boy did it feel smooth and comfortable. I think the Gillette Silver Blue was the perfect blade for both of these razors. No issues with the right hand side of my face. The Oaken lab soap was so thick and creamy and helped the GC glide across my skin with no issues.

Now onto the left hand side of my face with the 0.90mm Start razor. Oh dear...it feels even smoother!! I cannot believe that a .90mm blade gap could feel this smooth and comfortable and perform so effortlessly.

2nd pass, across the growth.

Went with the Start razor on the RHS of my face and again it felt super smooth with no drama at all from the razor. I switched the blade over to the GC for the LHS of my face and I have to say it felt just as smooth as the Start razor. Nothing in it on smoothness for this pass.

3rd Pass, against the growth.
GC first on the RHS of my face. Again, no issues with the soap helping to glide the razor across my skin. This Oaken lab soap is a fantastic performer.
Switched the blade over to the Start razor for the RHS against the growth. Am.Az.Ing!!
The GC is smooth, but shaving against the growth with the Start brings another level of smoothness. Even on my moustach area, ithere was no issues with it at all and I was able to shave with no worries of pulling or tugging. I stuck with th Start for the clean up pass - there wasn't much left!! - again, no drama, smooth beyond smooth!

A BBS shave with no drama from these two brilliant razors. They both have their plus points...

The GC is slightly cheaper and for me, I prefer the knurling and length of the handle on it. I like the Start as it's slightly heavier and the smoothness is slightly better than the GC, especially going against the growth.

I'm super impressed with the smoothness of the Start razor and the build quality and price point is up there with the Gamechanger. I guess it depends what you want from your razor but if you want smoothness over everything else, then the Start razor has it.

Perfect. I was waiting for a comparison against either GC .84 or Karve SB C or D
