I am afraid that what is happening here is a harbinger of what the future may have in store due to climate change. The increasing frequency with which these "freak" weather conditions are occurring globally should concern everyone.

Yes a bit of Albatross flying in there. It is a travesty and our Govts have no action plan. Parts of Western indian deserts are much greener than what they used to be 40 years ago and everyone is busy backpatting each other for forestation drive and efforts put together. But not a single study about what is lost in the process and what continues to get eroded.
I hope and wish that masses everywhere stay safe from freak vagaries of nature and weather Gods.

We are catching a bit of the heat wave as it slowly moves east. It's early evening, 1800, with a temp of 34C/93F but with the humidex factored in it feels like 40C/109F. Nowhere near what they are getting out west though and our a/c is keeping the house at 22C so we are very comfortable.

Looks as though we’re not far enough south of you Bob to avoid the heat: Monday and Tuesday’s humidex forecast at 40C.:mad:

Yea, it sure feels like I remember when visiting southern Ontario in the summer up here now. We should be through in a few days though.
