Still love some of the 1970’s blaxploitation movies - Foxy Brown (with the wonderful Pam Grier), The Mack, Truck Turner. The soundtracks are great also. Films that I return to and stand up to repeat viewings of course include Blade Runner, Highlander, Metropolis to name a few.

I find there is something different about them - way above their B movie budgets. I doubt most of these films would now pass the censor. For me there really was something quite special about 70’s Hollywood movies. Just thinking about Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford and many of their ilk makes me miss that type of moviemaking.

I like Women in Cages, but I've only seen the BBFC video version, which is about 4 minutes long.

Everyone needs to watch The Godfather at least a dozen times.

an unremarkable, inaccurate movie about a remarkable man, how you can make a film about Alan Turing's time at Bletchley Park and not mention Tommy Flowers is beyond me.

400 Blows - made in 1959, the story of a disaffected young boy being failed by his parents/life. great to watch with lots of fun moments in it too
