I have no idea what I’m looking at but it’s pretty. I wouldn’t know new old stock from restored. And it DOES look more like boar.
I’ve been pondering this ^ one for a week or two, as an entry into badger. It ticks several boxes for me. It’s old, NOS, made in Europe, and it’s pretty. Not sure what I’m looking at when it comes to various types of badger hair. But synthetics are so user friendly. Not sure I’m up to the extra trouble.

It's pure badger, they can be a sloppy mop without much backbone, look for a two band, you'll be happier, you might even call it "luxurious"!
