Last two shaves have been with the KAI blade. And quite simply, they have been excellent. A slight boost in blade feel & efficiency while STILL remaining exceptionally smooth on the face whether ATG, XTG or WTG. The Tradere SB benefits with the KAI SS installed therefore giving one (the user) a bit more of blade feel, an increase in audible feedback and being super smooth and soft on the face in giving a BBS finish in both shaves. Stubble took a bit longer to regrow extending the duration of the shave by about 2 hours. Not bad at all....

Tonight I did a side by side of my Original Tradere OC V1 vs Blackland Tradere SB
Pre shave Hot shower
Brush SV Cadre Badger
Soap ETHOS Clean
Blade PolSilver Poland
AS Thayers Coconut & ETHOS clean
First Pass WTG. The OC has significantly more feel both of the combs and the blade. Rinse and feel both sides took down the majority of my 2 day beard a little more from the OC
2nd pass ATG. Again the SB felt a little smoother, neither skipped or gave blade chatter but the OC had a little
More feel not sure if it was the blade or the OC edge. Rinse and I was BBS on the OC side but needed slight touchup on the SB side under the Jawline and upper lip.
Both razors gave me an excellent shave the SB required a little touchup to get BBS but was definitely smoother.
The only criticism of the Blackland Tradere is the handle could
Use a little deeper grooves but I never felt like I would loose control of the shave
Shane has done an excellent job of reproducing the Tradere and I am very happy with this first shave.

Very interesting review, thank you @Shavemd. How would these 2 Tradere razors compare to the Diamondback? I love the look of these Traderes, but need something with a bit of bite.

Based on the Blackland SB I would recommend getting the OC Blackland Tradere if you want "Bite" I love my OC version when I skip a day or 2 but as a daily shaver Sunday thru Thursday night the SB is better suited for me.

I suspect that the Blackland Tradere will destroy the trade value of the original. Sure, they're unobtanium, but you can actually buy and shave with the Blackland version at a decent price.

I don't think so. In fact, the Blackland Traderes will probably make original Traderes increase in price, similarly to the the price of LASSC BBS-1 after the original supplier of the BBS-1 decided to start his own company, Wolfman Razors.

JD didn’t start up making a copy of the BBS-1, though. With the more recent WR2, he’s getting closer, but it’s still not the same anatomy/gap/exposure AFAIK. He rather made a name for himself and surfed on. And, knowing Shane, he probably has improved on the original. Having never tried the BBS-1, I can’t say if that is what the WR2 does.
