I'm for 1 & 2. Even if he doesn't like or usually wear a watch, they can be useful at times when you wouldn't want to quick draw a phone or another pocketable gizmo.
A voucher would afford him a bit more freedom in choosing what to get, potentially something a lot more useful than what a bunch of strangers are likely to come up with.

Just checked the Shavemac prices not on your Nelly. 2 band Silvertip bulb £170 before engraving. They aren't worth that price for a £40 knot.

You can get a brush from Chisel and Hound (formerly That Darn Rob) for just over £100 that is far better made, beautiful handles and great knots. Shavemac is overrated IMO.
