...Many in NY and other dem controlled areas were elderly who were murdered by forcing C-19 positive patients to be placed there. They may have died as a result of C-19, but they were vulnerable, and had other health issues to begin with, and they were sealed in like rats on a ship with infected patients.
The UK Tories did the same.

So it was either ignorance on both sides of the Atlantic at the start of the period where more than normal numbers of people died, or the Terrible Tories are in cahoots with the Demonic Democrats!!! Who'd thought that?!? I was under the impression that Boris was quite chummy with Donald, or maybe he does hate him and felt that sacrificing all those old people (who probably wouldn't be around to vote in 5 years time at the next general election anyway) was worth it to make Trump look bad and was just pretending to like him to be to get a trade deal?

One of my dad's friends died from Covid in a nursing home, aside from the obvious it was pretty sad that no one was able to attend his funeral, not even his only son.
That is the real pisser, but some famous politician croaks and everyone can attend. And rioters are exempt from all C-19 related regulations; they may gather in large crowds and not wear masks and apparently they are immune!

And in California (of course) a comedy club became a "protest" club so they could stay open. https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/l...open/509-3a0eb1ad-bfd7-4e71-bdf4-e918aeef773a

I can't speak for or against "The UK Tories". Who made the decision, or the regulation requiring it?

The numbers come from the death certificates, the coroners write C-19 even if you were shot to death. Many in NY and other dem controlled areas were elderly who were murdered by forcing C-19 positive patients to be placed there. They may have died as a result of C-19, but they were vulnerable, and had other health issues to begin with, and they were sealed in like rats on a ship with infected patients.
Words fail me.

Yeah. The part you conveniently left out is that there were 274,304 hospitalizations and 12,469 deaths. Compare that to us having just surpassed 160,000 dead in the US. I'd say Obama got it right. So, you only post about the number of cases yet you ignore how many have died simply so you can promote your lopsided agenda? Just great.

Edit: I hadn't seen all the other posts saying the same thing so apologies for repeating what everyone else said. At least we seem to be on the same page.

I posted on the other covid thread, been doing some research over the last few months on antibody and antigen testing kits. Mainly to invest in these companies. I am surprised (yet awaiting big announcements) that Omega Diagnostics have not been rolled out as yet. The most accurate test on the market as of today (please correct me if I'm wrong I'm only human and thousands of tests available) as well as being approx £1.50. CE and MHRA approved. Current tests would be approx £40/test. Synairgen is another interesting company, especially considering the drug delivery mechanism.

Found this an interesting read authored by an American and his personal experience.

Good article and pretty accurate as to the shortcomings of the US approach to the virus. As I read it something occured to me. It's great that the US Constitution grants people their independence and personal liberty and celebrates individuality. But what this virus has shown is that too many people in this country take those rights as legitimate reasons to ignore science and more importantly, to ignore the rights of everyone in this country to a safe and healthy environment. Instead those same people insist on acting selfishly and show absolutely zero respect or concern for their fellow citizens. It really goes to the core of what is making this country so disliked abroad and so undesirable for those who live here yet are willing to respect their fellow citizens. It's really a giant shame. This is the reason there are 160,000 dead. I expect that number to reach 400,000 in a year from the onset of the pandemic. And even that number won't make a difference to those ignorant selfish idiots.

Unfortunately, I believe you are right. Along with rights goes responsibilities, the two inseparable.

I agree. Must have a shotgun with me every time a person gets into my taxi and delays 2-3 minutes until he put the damn mask on.

Everything right now is Covid, but what about other viruses? Three members of my family including me have had a 48hr virus. You wake up shivering in the night, next day a temperature of 38°, feel completely weak and washed out and spend 2 days in bed. No symptoms except for a mild neck ache and headache. No sneezing or cough. After 2 days it seems to go away. No idea what this is.

Anyone else have experience of "other" viruses?
This isn't Covid. How old are you?

Also, I believe that we have 2 pandemics in my country right now, one is the coronavirus, the other is willful ignorance. It’s too bad that we don’t have a vaccination for both. But even if we did apparently a large number of people would refuse both.

A hard lesson to learn.

There are a number of stories like this where people who claimed the Coronavirus was nothing but a hoax ended up contracting the virus and then regret their ignorance on their death bed. Or their family comes forward to plead for people to listen that it is real and not a hoax. Here's the thing. There is enough evidence from legitimate and reliable sources to know that this thing is real. Anyone who shows ignorance by either ignoring the evidence or by outright denying it's legitimacy deserves whatever comes to them. It's called the Law of Natural Selection.

I'm going to add to the above post by saying that I don't wish these people to get the virus or worse. I am not that mean spirited. But I don't feel sorry for someone who's ignorance leads them to behave in such a way as to increase the chances that they or someone else they know will contract the virus.
