Blackland Sabre GEM Razor

The Sabre is here and it shaves like an absolute dream! Perfect balance, moderate aggressiveness, and smooth as can be. The blade guards create an incredibly comfortable and safe experience, but are unnoticeable during the shave. The three-piece design is reliable, familiar, and as simple as can be while also allowing for optimal weight distribution by centering the head over the handle. Production has already begun and these should be available within the next two weeks. More details and better photos will be coming soon.

Looks good Shane, question, is that a proprietary head/handle combination? The thread on the head looks quite rectangular but it might just be my eyes!

The thread is m5x0.8. It is the standard thread for safety razors and the head/handle are compatible with other razors. Of course, the threaded stud was heavily modified by cutting away most of the thickness.

That is really good news!! And I know you're probably tired of being asked this question, but how long roughly after that for your polished Sabre?
I don't know to be honest. If I had to guess I would put it at about a month. We finally have a system going with the polished Blackbirds that should get them in stock more often. We'll have some available within a week and we've begun another batch that will be ready in 2-3 weeks afterward. That process will continue into the future. I expect the same kind of turnaround for the polished Sabre once it gets going, but first we need to figure out a process that will work well for these particular parts.

I also wanted to share this photo of the Sabre to show the machined finish. The machine markings are incredibly fine and the finish is quite reflective for a matte-type finish.

That really looks very nice for a matte finish. Even though there are machine markings, they look light and very fine. I am tempted to just consider the matte finished one. As much as it pains me, because I would really love to see and feel how it shaves, I'm going to wait for the polished version. And again, it just looks amazing. A modern classic in the making if you ask me. I'll be parking my rear-end on your site waiting intently for those shiny, polished Sabres.
