First shave with the pass around Drakkant.

This is a lovely looking razor. I like the finish and the style of it. Feels nice in the hand. The handle looks grippy but has a habit of sliding when I held it before the shave. It's very well machined and the 'smoothed' edges of the raised parts of the handle lack the grip of more pointed, lesser finished equivalents. This impacts the grip as a result but does make it very comfortable to hold. In use, being aware of this, I had no issues with the handle. A slightly tighter grip to be on the safe side and all was well.

The actual shave was very pleasant. I've started with the Standard plate. Very comfortable but angle specific. This plate seems to work best with a more shallow angle. The end result is ok. Now I've got the angle sussed, I'll see how the second shave goes with the Standard plate before changing.

Another comfortable shave with the Drakkant. This is certainly a mild razor in 'Standard' plate form. I had the shallow angle nailed for this shave and it went about the business of hair removal with ease. The finish is visually acceptable but it doesn't pass the faceturbation test.

Grip was absolutely fine today. Paid no particular attention to it and had no issues.

I'll give the plus plate a go next.

The + plate delivered a much better finish. More blade presence than the standard (obviously, Boycie83). In term of face feel, it say it felt a smidge more assertive then the Rocca I was using a week ago. Based on this first shave with the + plate, I think my ideal would be a plate somewhere between the two. The comfort and ease of the standard plate with the end result of the + plate. A couple more shaves try before I settle on that opinion.

I wasn't sure on the scent of the soap from the tub but it's beautiful once lathered.

This shave with the + plate was more settled. I was able to undertake the shave on autopilot until I got to my neck. I really like the look of this razor. It's still not quite the two pass wonder I'm looking for but it's got 'soul'.

I enjoyed the WK soap the other night so thought I'd give it another whirl. Still delightful!

Final shave with the Aylsworth Drakkant. I debated using the OC plate but I'm very picky with OC razors. I had 48 hours growth so decided to let the + plate take that on. No issues!

In summary: I've enjoyed my time with the Drakkant. I like the look and the feel of it in my hand. I enjoyed both SB plates. My preference would be for one somewhere between the two but I'd probably opt for the + plate based on current availability. I may add one of these to the den at some point.

I agree with assessment. I never found an OC I liked until I tried this one. Then I became an OC convert lol

Thank you for trying er out and proving the feedback! For anyone interested there's a Ti+ version in the works with the SB+ head and Kopparkant handle. Should have images of the prototype in the next week or two.
