Great news!

Can you say what sort of feel you are going for with these plates. Will the ++ be on par with an asylum Rx or still an exposure and gap for the normal shaver?

And a second question if I may. Are you planning on making the additional plates available on the passaround?
I'm following with interest, I hope we'll have the answers soon

I was interested in the prices for the sandblasted finish, when choosing options it asks about head hat, anyone know what head hat means?

It's... alive!
Maybe I'm just misremembering but I think the machined finish took the place of the original lowest cost option (bead blasted) and the other finishes have increased in price.
Right you are, the stainless steel sand blasted Le Maurice head went for 155 EUR, I think. Now at 185 EUR.

As such, the machined finish head is still cheaper, but not by much compared to the original price.

The La Faulx head was 165 EUR for the sandblasted version. The machined is not 160 and sand blasted is 205.

That 185 EUR price is for the sand blasted Maurice DE head.

The sand blasted Faulx SE head is 205 EUR.

edit: nm it looks like you just updated your post

I just tried this razor for the first time, I bought the SB head only with the + plate, in stainless steel, sand blasted finish.

I was fortunate to buy before the recent price increases, now the head would set me back €205, I got it for €165 plus postage. This is an expensive razor, even before the price increases which I feel now places it beyond what many would be prepared to pay for such an item. That said the fit and finish of the product is indeed quality and off a high level.

Now onto the shave?…well wow!. Fantastic, efficient and super smooth. The only other SE razor I currently own is the Razorock Hawk V3 A, which I really like but find it a little mild for more than daily shaves. The La Faulx + plate is certainly more efficient and just as smooth. It gave me a great shave on two days growth with a Schick Proline blade with no weepers or cuts and just a little irritation around the Adam’s Apple which I put down to me being a little too enthusiastic on the ATG passes.

I have previously owned a Vector, Claymore Evo and Stando SE all off which I sold as they didn’t feel quite right for me.The La Faulx seems more to my liking and far more intuitive to use, at least for me. Worth the almost three month wait!.
