Metal protrusions on the inside of the casing where the two heads meet. Also spoke with another member who reported light rattling even when the razor was loaded. Another thing when unloaded the joint gap on either side of the head is not symmetrical.

So last use this evening. This time with a Kai Pro Touch. I thoroughly enjoyed this blade. A very smooth shave, even though the Feather Pro was not uncomfortable, this blade felt more comfortable, without affecting efficiency. The angle is definitely quite natural, reminds me now of using the Mach 3 with full pressure on the pivot head. Blade loading is easy now too. I don't dismantle the whole razor, however I do when removing the blade. As others have found, simply shaking it doesn't always release the blade, perhaps my water pressure out the tap is not too rapid, as this can't knock it off its holder either.

The Asylum with a Kai Pro Touch blade could be used as a daily driver. It is definitely a smooth and efficienct shaver.

I will be posting the razor on Monday. I have enjoyed my time with it. Bought it. Main reason is the feel of the shave. You could almost go as far as saying the Asylum handles each blade with different face feels but with the same excellent level of comfort.

Gents the Asylum is being posted this morning to Rowlers.

Status so far, I have used 4 blades, plenty left and marked on the sheet with a little message on the reverse. Samples kindly donated by Andreas were not used just sniffed. I have also thrown in a puck of Trumpers sandalwood (old stock so should lather), Majmua attar bottle (Indian paan shop) and a sample of Mystic Waters orange spiced tea. Split them, use them up, as you wish.
