That's both odd and beautiful at the same timeKnowing that you like knives I may have a Solingen knife that may interest you Richard. I bought it at a car boot sale in the Summer. It was in amongst a small bicycle tool kit that I bought for my mountain bike.
By all accounts it's a collectable corkscrew knife http://www.bullworks.net/virtual/knives/decorat.htm

I had told myself that I was not going to buy anymore Schick Injectors, but I could not resist this one.
The box is pretty bashed as you can see but the razor is unused, the cardboard blade is still in place.
Now I am assuming this is an L1 as it looks identical to the black handled L1 I already have, I have not seen the L1 in this colour before except for another one like this on eBay that was sold recently, anyone any idea what kind of age this might be?
It has made in Holland on the box.
I thought having the two L1's would be useful for comparing blades without having to take the blades out unnecessarily or keeping one for twin blades and one single blades.

Yes that is what I thought at first. But maybe it is one of the bordering countries to China and not Thai, maybe Laos?
Odd, in the way Architect pointed out above you mean? Your right it is beautiful, quite decorative and unusual.

The Chinese side reads;
"Thailand HorseMark corporation, German rep"
She is guessing that the Thai side says the same - but in Thai.
The maker would be "Fernando Esser & CIA" - a company founded in Elberfeld, Germany and manufactured mainly for export. The city lies slightly to the north of Solingen, Germany.
Fernando Esser & Co. was founded in Remscheid in 1857 and moved to Solingen in 1939, but your exact stamp (rearing horse over the letter E) was registered in 1943 - which is as close as I think one can get to dating it. The company went out of business in 1966.
They made a slew of products such as cutlery items, bayonets, knives, machetes, and even - straight razors.
Taking all that into consideration it's unclear to me if the "Horsemark" refers to a company out of Thailand...or was simply a way to spell out the Esser logo. No idea
