A bit early but what's been your best buys of 2020?

I'd say that there is very little that is radically new in this pastime. Others may disagree.

I can see where you are coming from, I'd say there have been a lot of maybe not new but 'updated' products released in the last 12 months including next gen synth brushes, Half DE blade razors like the Leaf, and a world of new soaps - but whether they are 'new' is down to one's interpretation.

Like yourself I've had a quiet 12 months for shaving purchases, I think all my shaving purchases combined included some blades, a bottle of Barbon splash, a Signature Soaps unscented shaving soap/ Patchouli splash - with the latter being my shaving purchase of the year, it's my go to option if I've had a bad shave, seems to settle down/sooth my face better than any other product I've come across.

There is always something new to the market whether you choose to buy is down to personal choice mate. I bought a Wolfie, no reason to ever buy a razor again, but I sold it and bought a Leaf. How wierd is that?

I bought the Zenith Extra Soft horse back at the start of May and haven’t really looked back. Bargain as well as a strong ethical choice.

The B&M Soft Heart in Unscented was an April purchase and I’ve been very happy with it. It’s pretty much all I’m using.

Non-shaving related but still grooming, I’ve been wearing Guerlain’s Habit Rouge EDT almost daily and in the last month I’ve been very happy with Garnier’s SPF 50+ Face Fluid for £7.

Is the brush code 506U XS as on Your Shaving? I may have to try the horse again ... is the logo engraved into the wood?

That’s the one. I think it’s stamped rather than engraved.

Rooney Finest it ain’t but, on its own terms, it’s genuinely excellent.

+1 on the Best buy - Monsavon . Based on massive value for very little money.
Worst buy although not big money is the Speick stick.. Hate it. I know some love it but it is all wrong for me in every way.

Tough decision. I like bargains, so one of those

• 21 NOS Personna 74 injector blades for £13.55 (I paid £3 per blade last time I found some)
• 10 NOS Schick Twin Injector blades for £5
• Another spare Eversharp Fashion Razor (Schick H1) for £5

I didn't buy much else this year anyway. Too busy printing my own razors
