Of all the razors you've loved before...

what's your favourite razor?
I've owned a Pils, Feather AS-D2, One Blade Genesis, ATT, 4 different Roccas, R89s, R41s, Timor, Parker, Wilkinson, Merkur, et al, and my favourite razor of all time is the unassuming Edwin Jagger long lined handle DE89. It gives me a great 99% BBS without any irritation every time. It makes me smile every time I use it.

Gentlemen, raise your glasses. I give you the Queen, and the EJ DEL89LI14bl

Not my absolute favourite but one of the best I've owned, the EJ89 Barley Chatsworth. I want to re-buy this razor, hard to beat yet it's been around for some time. Handle ergonomics and added weight provide a different shave IMO to the standard EJ89, which is a great shaver too.

That's my other EJ. I think the lined handle is the best shaver, while the Barley Chatsworth is the best looking razor.

I found the BC to be slightly more aggressive, I think this is down to the weight of the razor more than anything else. I'm guessing the head is the same as the 89. But definitely agree that the favouritism is mainly down to looks.

Agree completely about the aggressiveness of the BC. I think much like Muhle, they have one closed comb head, one open comb head, and 500 handles. There was a guy on TSR who used to be in charge of the raffles, who said the BC was a 'purty razor, but unbalanced'. Much like the membership.

So Mr boring comes in as usual with the Rockwell 6S . Just works better than anything else I have ever had / tried. My only dilemma
comes with do I use the Satin or the black?

If I had to really choose one, out of the hundreds and hundreds that I have tried, it would be my Weber DLC; not as efficient as my Blackibrds, but it is great for my head and face shaves, whereas the latter is too aggressive for my head shaves. :)

I have two.

My Game Changer .68 Open Comb. It blows the SB base plate out the water although there is something wrong with my SB base plate. It sounds and feels different on one side. I can't see anything wrong with it but it's there.

And my 50's English brass Tech. Paired with a 60g handle it shaves as efficiently, comfortably and smoothly as my GC .68 OC. A heavier handle makes a difference.

I have others but any of these two are as good as it can get for me.

I'm not suggesting the 50's English brass Tech is the best Tech in general, only that my example is the best I have tried and I have tried a lot. They were mass produced for a long time and small differences are to be expected even among the same types. For whatever reason mine shaves exceptionally well. I'm still always impressed with it.

My Micromatic Clog-Pruf is first choice over R41 and MMOC. The R41 is perfectly good but the Clog-Pruf is so great in the hand for weight and balance and the PTFE blades are wonderful.

I've been through a lot of razors that didn't make it into the last 3. Two Timeless, plenty of old Gillettes, a nice Karve E plate OC which I gave to my son (liked that as much as the R41), a SE1 ATT, a couple of injectors which came and left quickly, ..... miscellaneous others like Gillette Slim, Rockwell, Fatip, Merkur Progress......

The Clog-Pruf is the one, no doubt. I have two, since it's the one.....
