I had a 1963 Buick Riviera with a Dynaflow which was Buick's version. In fact it was the last Buick to have one before they changed to the Super Turbine 400. It was a different trans. but the same continuous turbine operation. What a terribly inefficient design. The strange thing about it was it was a floor shifter and from top to bottom, or rather fore to aft the gear arrangement was Park, Neutral, High, Low, Reverse instead of the usual PRNHL arrangement. It always seemed very precarious having reverse below low.
But the car was lovely. It was at one point voted the most beatiful Ameercan body style ever made by some group of muckety mucks. It was white and looked like this one. Mine had the 401 Nailhead. If I were to buy one again I would get one with the GS package: 425 Wildcat with 2 4 BBLs, leather seats powered both sides.
Still, even with the 401 it still had 365 hp. They called it the business man's muscle car.
