Not very good for me. That's not to say it could be good for another. SV stands for Saponoficio Varessimo, the same bowl posted by Len above.

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, if it works that's good. And I saw it on a website a while back but, it looks like the lid of a thermos flask!
Having said that I'm not ruling it out, I'm as fickle as I am opinionated.

Steve Woodhead. Lovely design, I find it great for pre soaking my brushes. When it comes to building lather, cheap brushes are fine but I tend not to use any expensive badgers as the sides of the bowl often come into contact with the brush handle when building.

Natural horn and standard galzed china bowls are amongst my favourite. Develop lather the fastest for me, no damage to the brush handle, easy to wash and store. Minimum of fuss.

You know what, after having to bin my horn bowl because of a split, I think I may just buy another. Cheap and effective....

That looks like two votes for a ceramic (scuttle vs surubachi) and two for a cheap horny bowl, ooh err.

The Sori Yanagi designed bowl is my favourite, followed by a large Steve Woodhead scuttle. I also love using the TSR bowl with small ish brush

When face lathering I use the SW scuttle to keep the brush warm between passes.

This Steve Woodhead one:

I have the Japanese stainless steel one too but prefer this because it has a handle and that makes it easier and more comfortable to hold.

Yes it's plenty wide enough. Very occasionally the brush can clank against the walls because they are more or less vertical, but that is rare. My perfect bowl would be the proportions and dimensions of the Sori Yanagi one but ceramic and with a handle just like the Steve Woodhead bowls. Maybe I'll have to enroll on a pottery course.
