If i was to buy a bottle of Eau Sauvage to accompany my Apricus- can anyone tell me before hand if the eau de toilette and the eau de parfum are identical apart from scent strength?

Which would be recommended?

Unfortunately not. Apricus is based on the vintage Eau Sauvage, Dior have since reformulated this.

I'm not entirely sure but @jonmaddock I think did tell me that the vintage was still available and there is a way to tell between slight packaging changes. Maybe he would be kind enough to explain.

Parfum, EDT and cologne are all different. The parfum was introduced in 2011(?) while the original EDT is from 1966. I’m guessing that’s what this is based on, and even if reformulated, EDT would be the best match. (Reformulations seem to owe mostly to IFRA introducing the oakmoss ban around 2011.) Go check them out in a shop, @JonnyBGood ?

My apricus set arrived today - smells lush!! Can’t wait to use it tomorrow.

If you were to perhaps grab a sniff from the department stores. .. you'll find it's similar as the EDT.. okay not exactly the same but youll know the scent

Erm, not really making a big issue over it but for example, Darren's Magnum retains a good scent throughout. Others of his and other makes likewise. This one just missed that for me on this occasion. Have some Bay rums , esp OSP that really hit the mark on longevity of scent throughout. May have been a bad nose day!! Will certainly persevere.

As a big surprise for me the post shave scent of this reminded me instantly of my grandad who passed away when I was 15 - I’m 44 now.
He would never have worn the original Eau Sauvage fragrance so I’ve no clue what it was that did that but it wasn’t subtle - it was like wow reminds me of grandad

There was post on Facebook, but no updates here. I think there has been issues with then machine shop, so we're just waiting...

Edit - that sounds poor... Steve wants to ensure everything is spot on before shipment. Basically we're waiting for tip top QC. Something some of the big boys should take note of!

So Steve had sent an update out as an email. But i'll post it here. In short as Lee said some issues with the machine shop but these seem to have been resolved.

Hi Guys,

The machine shop has told me that they have messed up the anodising for a second time. The black is particularly poor. They are reworking them now and have told me they will deliver late this week. I remain to be convinced.

Coin - rather than engrave the Wickham logo on the base I have decided to go with a coin and this is in progress now. The coins is being made and I will have it in my hands within 10 days

As a thank you and an apology for waiting I will give each buy a nice 316L Stainless Steel razor handle - a design I call "The Bravo"

They are reworking them now and have told me they will deliver late this week. I remain to be convinced.

So I was wondering whether the handles got delivered last week and are now OK.

Anyway, so long as I haven't been sitting here waiting, whilst everyone else is already shaving with their new brushes, I'm happy

I had a day at home on Tuesday and managed to look over the coins and the brush handles that I DO have and made and mailed some brushes. News is I got a limited number of the brushes into the mail. These are the soft shine and synth ones. Take a look at the photos of the one I am using myself. I also show you the razor handle that EVERY one of you will get as patient people. I have added one at random so some of you might get brass and others might get stainless steel. There are two type for each material matte and shiny.

I will get delivery of the outstanding handles this weekend unfortunately I am again out of the home on a business trip on my day job... this delivery, the machinist says they are perfect, should allow me to complete the deal. Sorry again guys it has turned into a saga.

Now my pledge to you all. My word is my bond. Once I have all of these brushes out in the mail and once you receive them if you are NOT totally satisfied I will give you your money back with no arguments whatsoever. I pride myself on giving my customers something that I would want to use myself and this brush is no exception. Again if you are not satisfied just contact myself and Darron and we WILL make you whole again. PS I won't be taking the cash for these from Darron until everyone is satisfied.
