Why can't we stick with one Razor

We can, but just choose not to. When I was a teen, I used my grandfather's shaving equipment. He was always picking up a free holder when he purchased a sleeve of blades. I used his Schick Krona. Back then, blades were where the brands relied upon, I suspect.

Before I got into this enough to join a forum I used carts and KoS Alphagel. I had various handles but wasn't interested in any difference, they were spares, or for travel.
Started this hobby with a straight razor and just kept lusting after cooler ones. Then someone gave me a DE and before I knew it I had more of almost all kinds of razor than I ever intended or imagined. It's just variety, curiosity and indulgence. Who knows, maybe one day I'll lose interest and just keep one SE or DE and one soap? But that would be dull and make shaving a chore again.

Pulled the trigger on a new obsidian razor with titanium under sprockets and polished mahogany finials .. thank God I got one. They're all sold out now and there's a 50 day wait list. :D Hmmmm I'm going to need a few brushes and soaps to go with it though.

Also if anyone's interested...my good friend who's a bricklayer said he'd make me a new hat, entirely out of bricks. Looking forward to wearing that out around town....:cool:

Aside from my current foray into straight razors, I'd be perfectly content to just use a Rolls Razor system everyday, and sell off my razor collection.

Sharpening stones, on the other hand, are my latest weakness. Two or three would probably be sufficient. 15 is better. 100 would be excellent. They are consumables after all, and won't last forever, except maybe those old iron hard coticules...
